Fun with Fasteners

I started a new blog 'Fun with Freeway Fasteners' and I'm enjoying it so much that I'm neglecting all my other stuff.

It's about art, science, community & business but all based around these little things called fasteners.

I only started it a little over a month ago but I already have tons of ideas for it and I'm thinking about it all day long.

I hope people like reading it as much as I like writing it.

So, maybe, if you like this blog you'll like that one, right?

Or not.  And that's ok too because I will be back doing something here eventually...once I get back on track a little bit.

Top 10 things I meant to blog about in the last 2 months...oops

  1. TSOOL, my new favorite current band after MAN OR ASTROMAN
  2. THE ZOOT my new favorite retro band - God Save Rick Springfield!
  3. Clean Up Aisle 4, my band, is in full mess-making mode
  4. Printmaking...making messy art keeps me calm which keeps me sane, or should I say happy
  5. 'Sucky' was the algae eating fish that died the day after he got to his new home...mis sobrinas 1st burial
  6. Robert at Molly Malone's - good j.o.b. B.o.b.
  7. Earthquake potato chips - you can't think of California without Earthquakes so it's the perfect name for a California potato chip
  8. BONES, I'm always watching and it always moves me.  I'm either really cheesy or the show is really good
  9. I did a cleanse - no meat, no sugar, no dairy, no coffee, no alcohol for 2 weeks. It was supposed to be for 3 weeks but #10 happened
  10. Josua arrived! With Spanish salchichon, manchego cheese & pate - I cannot resist them.  Although if a TSA person is reading this, that was code for certain cute little body parts on my Spanish boyfriend...or was it?!?!

Olé weekend

FRIDAY, at a show for Sam Ronson & Har Mar Superstar, I ran into a friend from flamenco class and she got me super excited about flamenco again
SATURDAY night my teacher from Sevilla was in the Paco Peña show so I took him to brunch with the whole gang.
SUNDAY I finally got to catch up with my flamenco friends at Battle of the Dance. Richard was great!

COCA-COLA RECIPE REVEALED!

The radio show This American Life has revealed the original Coca-Cola recipe—a secret the soda company has carefully guarded for more than 100 years. The show says Coca-Cola creator John Pemberton’s 1886 recipe was quietly published in 1979 in the Atlanta Constitution-Journal and no one noticed at the time. It has two parts. The first includes “fluid extract of coca,” citric acid, caffeine, sugar, water, lime juice, vanilla, and caramel. The second, called “7X,” includes alcohol, orange oil, lemon oil, nutmeg oil, coriander, neroli, and cinammon.

Bronze & Brass

Here's what I learned at work today.

Copper  +  Tin  =  Bronze
but
Copper  +  Zinc  =  Brass

¿Como amaneciste?

My friend Eddie asks me this everyday when I arrive to work.  Amanecer is Spanish for the dawn so this question is asking, "Like the dawn, how did you rise?"  I think this is such a beautiful way to say, "How is your morning?"
